Good Wednesday everyone, hope everyone has had a great day. Question???? If you happen to be #Genx have you ever wondered what might have been different if we had social media back then??? Let me first to say that it may have opened more doors with sports etc with the ability to share highlights etc but I sure did love it back then.
Now the true point of this blog is this, MONEY & OPPORTUNITIES with social media. There are so many things that you can make money from just from social media. This can be from monetizing your profiles, selling goods etc. Back in the day there was no “Online Yard Sales” you butt got out and posted signs, put an add in the paper and waited for Martha to get off the “party line” telephone from down the road. Speaking of “party line” GUILTY I was the kid that tried to lift the phone slowly and cup it so I could listen at times.
Sadly, I really never did as I always got caught with “I think someone is listening” or they were talking about how many biscuits to have for church for Sunday. I am getting off track>>>>> back to social media. I personally do not have that many “personal” socials as I mainly just use them for business. We had a store at one time that was Triple R Pawn that DBA’s Triple R Online now. This business alone proved to me the power of social media. When we had a store 72% of all sales was from the website and app and that left only 18%. From walk-ins. This business does great now with little over head and 24/7 orders.
Let’s look at DoorDash, Spark Delivery from Wal-Mart or even pick up or delivery. I could be sitting in my recliner and say hey, I want a slice of Pizza and have it delivered to me. Business makes money, driver makes money and you get what you want. I never thought as a kid buzzing around Williford Arkansas on a 3-wheeler I would see this. Wow how times change. Now that is the good .
Let’s look at the bad:
Too many times when we get angry or have a bad experience we reach for the phone and air it out for all to see. I guess if there was one thing I wish I could see on social media is an alert 🚨 after you type that asked you as a reminder “do you really want to post this” maybe that will let the blood pressure settle and clearer thinking come in. However, free speech is what it is and it must always be protected.
