Let me first say that you know that you have less life left and there is a change in you mentally. You want just a few things but the main thing is peace. You no longer what to be around disrespect, loud noises or even large crowds. You settle into your routine(s) of the day and that is just fine with you. You no longer get overly upset about things, you just walk away.
A good TV show and your chair is just fine for the night… I could go on and on, maybe I am just different :) as I no longer care about traveling, seeing things or being apart of groups etc. Golf is good for a few holes, maybe 9 on a good day but 4 or 5 will do as well lol. Big box shopping is dreaded, you walk in a beeeeee line to what you need or want and hit the door with pace. Drive thru and pick up food is better in the 50’s as well. No longer strive to go in and get disappointed. You have plenty of back up in the pantry if needed.
I have settled into these 50’s and if the good man gives me to 65 I think that I will have accomplished all that I want and after that it will just be bonus time. Fishing will close out the days if they are biting to keep the excitement up. No longer will be the days or nights or covering water in search. Load the boat and take me home!
If you read this and think “man there is no motivation” let me the first to tell you, this is winning mentally, physically and living life. When you remove all the stresses and settle in. The reward is beyond anything you can imagine!
If you happen to be young, go get all you can so when you reach this age, you have hustled all you need to “settle in”
