Normally everyday 7 days a week I post a video about sports and what it teaches us about life. However with today being the 25th anniversary of 9/11 I thought that words would be better and also something that I could reflect back on.
Today should always be about remembering, honoring and educating the ones that were not alive on that horrific day here in America. The lives lost and the long never ending misery each family that lost loved ones have endured over the years.
You know what really brought this country together after 9/11 >>>> sports and the love that we have for each other as AMERICANS!! The day after 9/11 you could see the raw emotions that we are all in this together and there was zero divisions upon American born people. Then when sports started back up one perfect pitch of a baseball sent the resolve, love and motivation to 100. President Bush nailed it and with that pitch the healing and retribution began.
I as a Cubs fan was able to see Sammy Sosa smash a home run to right field and cover the bases while clutching the Red, White & Blue 🇺🇸
Now what did this teach us about life????
Simple actually that Americans here in America can come together, we can stop the division, we can help thy neighbor and we can hold strong and defend. We can remember the fallen with grace and dignity and most of all we can be kind.
Sports brought us back together and I will forever miss those days of unity!
