Ahhhhh public school goes back in session here in a few weeks as the year starts sooner and sooner it seems. When I was a kid school was the first Wednesday of September followed the following Monday with time to learn and run if you were an athletic player.

Everyone knows that I have ZERO sympathy for the large schools that just loved Act 60 that called for mass consolation back in 2004. This act required schools that had enrollment of under 350 students for two consecutive years to close or consolidate. Massive impact this caused to so many rural schools across Arkansas that made them consolidate with bigger schools. No one will ever convince me that the bigger schools were back door supporting this Act 60>>>>> more kids = more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

They looked passed the disaster this was for towns not only loosing the school but the financial impact to all these areas. Thus is why we have all these small towns that look like ghost towns all over Arkansas. That was just one issue, how about all the kids that had to ride the bus longer, which means up earlier and home later.

Before this act if my research is correct Arkansas went from over 300 schools to below 240. Massive amount of kids having to change everything about their life during such a crucial time of friends, sports etc. Outsiders as they were brought into new these huge schools 🏫.

Now we come today in the year 2026 and in the newspaper today is Big Public Schools are having a hissy fit b/c Private Schools are pulling $60 Million from the Learns Act. Tears of it is not about education it is about making the owners RICH. You know what they say about KARMA, that wagon makes its way around the corner eventually. Never should have supported Act 60 and never closed these smaller schools.

Happy New School Year >>>> WILLIFORD INDIAN FOR LIFE!
