One of the greatest rivalries of all of MLB kicks off again tonight with the Cubs vs the Cardinals. This 4 game series is HUGe for both teams and the trade deadline looms on August 3rd.
The Cubs have made ZERO ground on the division leading Brewers (punch me in the face) but they do have a solid spot for the Wild Card. Now the Cardinals suck and have lost 7 of the last 10 games and if they fail to do any better before the trade deadline >>>> Cardinal fans will see another sell off of any good players they have.
Now the Cubs will not be sellers and hopefully make some trades to get some more arms in to make a run.
This series always means so much for me personally as a Cubs fan. I am surrounded by Red Bird Baseball lovers and it warms my heart when I can talk trash. Nothing would make me more happy if we can break out the broom and sweep this series and put an end to their season. The Cubs need to get out early and get up early and take the Cardinals soul out of the game.
Cubs will have Peterson, REA, and Boyd and Shota and I could careless who the Cardinals put on the mound. This first game tonight with Peterson on the mound will be the biggest test. Peterson has had his face punched in anything he pitches against the Cardinals. Hopefully this evening is different.
Weather will play a factor as St. Louis as always will be hotter than **** with temps between 98 and 110 with massive humidity. Last time I was at that stadium I sweated out the first bottle my mother gave me as a baby.
