At the ripe age of 50 I have had my fair share of loans, credit cards etc and I have always been aware of the importance of credit score. However, I want an apology from someone that makes these rules of make your payments on time, work hard and pay your bills!!!!!
Let me explain why, about a week ago I get a email from a credit card provider that advised “you need. to use your card in the next 30 days or it will be shut off for non-use” Listen, I do not have your card to just use!!! I only have a few cards for emergency’s or those splurge holidays buys. I do not use them just to use them. I never buy anything that I cannot use my personal earned money for. I HATE DEBT!!
So now that I have explained, I am okay I need a new chair for the “man cave” anyway. I travel to the store and pick out the chair, had the clerk the credit card I needed to use and guess what>>>> DECLINED!! They already in less than a week shut the card off for non-use!! What happened to the 30 days??? The good thing I explained to the local clerk (shop local all I can) why I was there and why I was using the now DECLINED card. Long story short, we called them and they advised why it was shut off before the 30 days and I decided the sale, didn’t really need the chair anyway but at 50 you just do things just because.
Now, the next day I get an alert from Credit Karma that my score had changed. I check it and guess what -36 points for closure of CREDIT CARD!!! I want to break something as it dropped me to close to 700. WAIT>>>>> it gets worse just yesterday I get another alert and I lost another -8 points b/c guess what I used anther card that I NEVER use for $160.00 purchase and b/c I did my balance increased WHAMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HIT to credit.
I will recover but the moral of this rant, punished with high % rate if you use them and punished if you do not. Never let me get started on this legal MOBSTERS called bankers. No way they can sleep with a good conscience…..
end of rant….
