I have been a fan of the Chicago Cubs my entire life! This gift I can credit to my Grandparents who were Cubs fans as well, the memories of watching the Cubs on WGN with Harry Carey and Steve Stone calling the games. I can also remember the struggle year after year with getting close to the playoffs or just so bad not even close.
I was able to enjoy the 1984 team and at the age of 9, at the time it was so awesome seeing Rick Sutcliffe, Ryan Sanberg and Shawn Dunston and so many other great Cubs. Baseball was always my favorite game growing up b/c of the Cubs.
The only regret that I have > not being able to watch the 2016 World Series winning Cubs with my Grandparents. You wanna to talk about “crying like a baby”???? >>>>That was me after they won it. I was so happy they finally after a lifetime of fandom they did it. I will always remember how much I wished both Grandparents were here to see it in person. However they watched from heaven anyway. If they missed the game for any reason I sure told them the next time I visited their graves.
However, if you need a definition of CHEAP look no further than the Cubs. Huge fan base with almost $600 million in yearly revenue and we fail every winter meeting to spend money get big players. This is one thing that I will always remember about the Cubs, what could have been in championships????
